Pro Musica Joplin Announces 2025–2026 Concert Series

JOPLIN, Mo. —

Pro Musica Joplin has released its 2025–2026 concert series featuring a diverse slate of chamber and contemporary ensembles. The season mixes cross-genre programming, celebrated string quartets, cutting-edge percussion, a special Regency-era ticketed salon, and world-class trio repertoire — all presented across Joplin’s top performance venues.

About Pro Musica Joplin: Founded in 1981 by Cynthia Schwab, Pro Musica Joplin’s mission is to foster interest in, appreciation for, and enjoyment of world-class live classical and chamber music in Joplin and the four-state area. Over decades the organization has built a reputation for bringing nationally and internationally touring ensembles to the region and for meaningful community outreach, including school residencies, master classes, and off-stage performances in libraries and assisted-living facilities.


“Heartstrings,” featuring Empire Wild and ArcoStrum

A cross-genre evening that pairs the contemporary string sounds of Empire Wild with the innovative string ensemble ArcoStrum.

The Brentano Quartet performs core quartet repertoire across two evenings in Joplin.
Sandbox Percussion

The internationally acclaimed Dover Quartet performs an evening of masterful string quartet literature.
Hermitage Trio

Where: Harry M. Cornell Arts & Entertainment Complex
The celebrated Hermitage Piano Trio closes the season with lyrical and dramatic trio repertoire.

Sheriff Requests OSBI Investigation into Jail Incident Involving Sanko By Inquisitor Miami News-Digest MIAMI, Okla. — Ottawa County Sheriff David Dean has requested an independent investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) into an incident involving an arrestee, Sanko, at the county jail. Sheriff Dean issued a press release stating that, at this time, it does not appear that Sanko was assaulted while in custody. In his statement, Sheriff Dean confirmed that an OSBI agent has been assigned to the case.
