The MMIW Crisis

The crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) continues to devastate Native communities across the United States. According to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), thousands of cases remain unresolved, leaving families searching for justice and closure.

Currently, 1,500 American Indian and Alaska Native individuals are reported missing, with 2,700 cases of murder and non-negligent homicide documented. In total, over 4,200 cases remain unsolved.
