A Career of Honor and Service
Maj. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino awarded Riley with the Legion of Merit in recognition of his outstanding leadership. Riley’s military career began in 1989, and he served in Egypt (2002), Iraq (2008), and Afghanistan (two deployments).
His distinguished awards include:
- Bronze Star Medal
- Meritorious Service Medal
- Army Commendation Medal
- Global War on Terrorism Service Medal
- Combat Infantry Badge
Leading the Future of Military Innovation
Most recently, Riley spearheaded the Unmanned Aerial Systems and Launched Effects Program, collaborating with law enforcement, academia, and industry partners to advance drone technology for national security.
"The organizations participating in the Launched Effects Alliance meetings are learning from each other in leaps and bounds," Riley said. "Our young leaders must begin learning now to win in the future."
Looking Ahead
As Riley transitions into retirement, he looks forward to spending more time with his family. "This organization was my family away from home," he said. "I’m very comfortable and happy with where I’m at, heading out the door to spend time with my family."
