Salvation Army Seeks Winter Clothing Donations for Ottawa County Residents

MIAMI, Okla. — As winter's chill sets in, the Ottawa County Salvation Army is urgently requesting donations of essential winter clothing to support local individuals and families in need. The organization is seeking contributions of:

  • Heavy Coats
  • Gloves
  • Hats
  • Underwear (for men, women, and kids)
  • Tennis Shoes (for men, women, and kids)
  • Socks

“We are accepting donations: Winter Clothing, Kids Clothing, Men's Shoes,” the Salvation Army shared on their official page. These items are vital for community members facing the harsh winter months without adequate protection.

Sheriff Requests OSBI Investigation into Jail Incident Involving Sanko By Inquisitor Miami News-Digest MIAMI, Okla. — Ottawa County Sheriff David Dean has requested an independent investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) into an incident involving an arrestee, Sanko, at the county jail. Sheriff Dean issued a press release stating that, at this time, it does not appear that Sanko was assaulted while in custody.
