Catholic Charities Hosts Monthly Food Distribution in Ottawa County, Oklahoma

MIAMI, Okla.— Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma hosted its most recent monthly food distribution event on Friday, Dec. 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miami. The event usually starts promptly at 9 a.m. and is finished before 10 a.m., at 2514 N. Main St.

These events are part of the "First Friday Food Distribution" program, which aims to support local families facing food insecurity. The program operates on the first Friday of every month, providing essential groceries to those in need.

In December, over 400 families were served with fresh and non-perishable foods, in all approximately 15,000 pounds of food was shared with members of the local community!

Thanks be to God.

The next Friday Food Distribution is scheduled for January 3, 2025 at Sacred Heart Parish in Miami, Oklahoma.

Merry Christmas.

“Because of generous people like you, we can live out God’s call to serve those in need in Eastern Oklahoma.” said a representative from Catholic Charities. “Our Mission is to be Christ's merciful love to those who suffer."

Volunteers are welcome to reach out!
